Taxi

Travelers can opt for taxi services available at Mother Teresa Airport or various points within Tirana. The journey to Vlore typically takes around two hours.


Bus

From Tirana

Cost: 500 Lek (one-way).

Departure Point: Regional Bus Terminal.

Operating Hours: Between 5:00 AM and 17:30 PM.

Direct Bus from Tirana Airport to Vlore:

Departure Times: 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 13:30 PM, 14:30 PM, 16:30 PM, and 22:00 PM.

Ticket Cost: Approximately 1000 Lek.

 


    Rental Car

    Visitors have the option to rent a car at Mother Teresa Airport, or through an app and have direct access to the rental car as they arrive at the airport.


     

    Sea Routes

    Vlora is accessible by sea, with daily ferries arriving from Brindisi, Italy. Every day, a ferry comes from Brindisi, Italy, offering a different and beautiful way to travel to Vlora.

    The Port of Durres, located 124 km from Vlora, also serves as a convenient point of entry for those arriving by sea.


    Border to Greece

    From Vlore, travelers can access Greece via two border crossings:

    Kakavije: Located approximately 163 from Vlora, Kakavije serves as a crucial border crossing point between Albania and Greece, offering a gateway to various Greek destinations.

    Qafe Bote: Another border crossing near Vlore, Qafe Bote, located 143 km from Vlora, provides access to Greece, facilitating travel between the two countries for visitors exploring the region.

     


    Future Accessibility

    Transportation in Vlora

    Bus

    Despite the congestion during high season, buses operate within the city of Vlora.

    Key features of Vlora city bus routes include:

    Each bus displays a route name placard in the front window.

    Buses run on an hourly loop, Monday through Sunday, with schedules subject to change based on traffic conditions.

    An attendant collects a one-way fee of 40 Lek per passenger, while children under 10 ride for free.

    All buses stop at locations marked with black bus markers on the map.

    Different colored bus markers denote various bus routes, and each stop indicates which buses service it.

    Passengers can request unscheduled stops by informing the bus driver in advance.


    Interurban

     

    Daily bus services connect Vlora to destinations both north and south.
    Sample routes include:
    Vlore-Tirana with stops in Fier, Lushnje, and Kavaje.
    Vlore to Mother Teresa Airport.
    Vlore to Saranda, with stops in coastal villages.
    Vlore to Gjirokastra, including stops in small villages en route.
    Shorter routes are also available, such as Vlore to Fier, Himara, Tepelena, and Orikum.

    Orikum Marina

    Just 16 kilometers away from the city and 25 kilometers from the airport (under construction), lies the Orikum Marina, a private port serving for anchoring tourist vessels. Managed by an Italian company, Orikum Marina offers around 70 anchoring spots for yachts up to 15 meters in length and with a depth of up to 2.5 meters. It is also designed as a residence with 59 apartments, service areas for boat repairs, luxurious shopping areas, and recreational spaces.
