Internet and Telephony

In Albania, there are two main mobile companies: Vodafone and One. Despite sounding like a pair of Bond villains, they actually provide quite good phone coverage across the country. During tourist season, which is when tourists show up, they offer special packages for foreigners, so you can get an Albanian number and pretend you’re a local, but with worse pronunciation.

Internet is basically everywhere, especially in bars and restaurants, because apparently the best way to stay connected is while slowly sipping a macchiato for three hours. Most places offer free Wi-Fi, which is like regular Wi-Fi, but without the sadness of a bill at the end.
