Easy Communication

Albanian is a language that sounds like someone trying to win at Scrabble using only vowels. It might seem unfamiliar to most people, because it is, but that doesn’t mean it’s hard to get by in Albania. Communication isn’t challenging at all, unless you’re trying to order something complicated, like tea, but not too hot.

While learning Albanian can be quite complex, probably because it’s full of words you’ve never seen before and sounds you didn’t know your mouth could make—thankfully, most Albanians speak English better than the English do. Many also speak Italian and Greek, which is impressive, unless you barely passed French with a D-minus. This multilingual talent makes it easy for tourists to have conversations, get directions, or argue whether the bill includes bread.
